Listening for Results
The Art of Acknowledging Your Client's Needs

45 minute keynote or 2-4 hour workshop

The strongest influence on the quality and outcome of all communication is the ability to listen effectively. Most organizations concentrate on the speaking half of the equation, but to foster the best and most accurate communication possible, listening skills should be enhanced. By listening effectively you can then respond appropriately. Performance in our team-oriented, change-driven, diversity-conscious, fast-paced workplace depends, more than ever, on listening well.

Most of us know that listening is more than just hearing. Listening enables us to put meaning to the sounds we hear. Listening is the ability to receive, attend to, interpret, and respond to verbal messages and other cues, like body language, in ways that are appropriate. Sounds easy, right? After all, we listen to thousands of messages each day. But it is estimated that people screen out or misunderstand the intended meaning or purpose of what they hear in over 70% of all communications. It’s easy to see how poor listening is the biggest contributing factor to miscommunication and conflicts.
